Story
Hi my name is Aubree and I am 8 years old. I have decided to set up a fundraiser with the help of my mum to go along with donating my hair.
About 6 months ago my mum suggested that I donate my hair because of how long it was, at first thought I wasn’t keen on the idea as I love my long hair but once I learnt what alopecia is and what it means to those that have it I instantly decided that I was going to donate it because ‘everyone should be able to have long hair if they want it.’
We measured my hair and it was exactly 37cm but I really wanted to donate much more than that, this is why I made the decision to grow it until the last term of school. When I mentioned this to my principal she suggested that I have it cut at assembly in front of my whole school to which after a little thought I decided to do. (For those who know Aubree this is a huge deal)
My hair is currently measuring at approximately 42cm that will be donated, along with any donations I receive.
