Sophia Miki-Flavell (Megumi Miki is the mum)
Story
Sophia is 11 year old, very lucky to have thick, long hair that grows very quickly. She has been growing her hair for 3.5 years so she can donate it to kids who are not as lucky.
She has been waiting for the hair to be long enough so she can still do a ballet bun when she cuts her hair. You can see that it is now down to her hips.
We have now booked her hair cut for 23rd December 2017!
Sophia heard about Alopecia Areata and decided that she wanted to donate her hair to AAAF. All hair donated to AAAF is sent wig makers who specialize in making hair pieces for medical purposes. They also run the Wigs For Kids program, which provides financial grants to help families with the costs of wigs.

Our Service philosophy is to give each person the best chance of managing their alopecia journey positively, the whole family and each individual needs to be supported to manage their unique experience. By reducing the financial and emotional stress and enabling children, young people, adults and their support networks to develop their strengths and skills, AAAF assists the whole family to achieve that positive journey.
