Story
I’m getting my hair cut for the first time ever. I’m also getting all my hair cut off for the first time ever. It’s been growing for 14.5 years and I’ve only ever had a few tiny trims here and there because it’s been in great condition.
I want to make a difference in my life and help people who are in need. So I thought I’d donate my hair to be made into a wig for someone who cannot grow hair of their own. This is my gift to someone special. I feel honoured and blessed to be in a position to do this.

(AAAF), is established to be the national Australia body supporting research to find a cure or acceptable treatment for all forms of Alopecia Areata, support those with the disease and their families, and inform the public about all forms of Alopecia Areata.
Our Service philosophy is to give each person the best chance of managing their alopecia journey positively, the whole family and each individual needs to be supported to manage their unique experience. By reducing the financial and emotional stress and enabling children, young people, adults and their support networks to develop their strengths and skills, AAAF assists the whole family to achieve that positive journey.
